General information

Although my background has been bookselling, publishing and fine art, I have always been a gardener. I am completely captivated by flowers and foliage of all kinds, and my designs reflect this. I am so happy to combine two of my passions in Etheldreda Floral: flowers and art.
I love the English garden aesthetic in floristry. My designs are natural, unrestrained and luxuriant. I use flowers grown on my little flower farm in Witcham, whenever possible. Seasonal, fresh, scented flowers are the stars of my designs. I avoid plastics and do not use foam.

Weddings
I offer a fully individualised wedding service. It includes a free consultation to discuss your ideas for your wedding, where I get a feel for your personal style, likes and dislikes. If you think that I am the right florist for you, I will send you a detailed proposal giving ideas for putting your vision into practice and making maximum use of your budget. I will also set up a secret Pinterest mood board where we can both post ideas. We will meet at your venue to gain further inspiration and refine the plan. When I am designing for your wedding, my aim is to inspire and advise but ultimately, give you exactly the wedding flowers that you want.

I will only take on one wedding per day so you will have my undivided attention. I will deliver your flowers on the morning of your wedding and be available to attach bridal party buttonholes (by pins or magnets), and to instruct on how to carry the bouquets. I will stay to move flowers from ceremony venue to reception if required.

If all this does not appeal, I also offer a Totally Transparent, No-nonsense, SIMPLE Wedding Package for around £500 All you need to do is choose a colour palette and receptacles (which you keep) and then pick the flowers up by 3:00pm the day before the wedding. Simple.

DIY
I can provide Buckets of flowers for DIY weddings – or provide a combination: e.g. I make the bouquet and buttonholes and you do the rest, with my professional advice.

Funerals
My designs are very personal, made to create memories of beauty to celebrate a life. They are perfectly suited to woodland burials because they are biodegradable, made without plastics or foam.

Why I am different
• I grow flowers on my little flower farm in Witcham, so they are guaranteed to be freshly picked, seasonal and fragrant.
• My style is loose, natural and abundant and I approach each piece like a work of art. I use seasonal British flowers, grown locally, as far as possible. The aesthetics are very important to me so I will on occasion source flowers from South America or Kenya but only from farms, that have high ethical standards concerning the environment and treatment of workers. I also understand that people sometimes want a certain out-of-season flower for sentimental reasons.
• I rarely use floral foam and keep plastics to a minimum. I have found that traditional techniques (such as plain, fresh water, chicken wire and moss) actually help me achieve a more pleasing effect. If requested I can make almost any design totally biodegradable so that when you’ve finished with it, you can throw it on the compost heap.
• I love and am fascinated by MOSS and you may expect to see it in my designs. I source it from two farms, one in Wales and one in the Borderlands (It is important to not take it from the wild although I expect you have lots in your lawn you’d like to get rid of!).
• I charge the same for men’s and women’s’ buttonholes: I personally attach all the bridal party buttonholes (pins for suit lapels and magnets for delicate fabrics). I will match them to outfits if required.
• I will make you a private mood board on Pinterest.
• I provide vases for all your bouquets to keep them fresh at the reception.
