About Us

Kieron and Jill Macdonald have been the owners of Oxford Garage since 2002. Having been the Managing Director of Massingberd Northallerton Limited for 18 years before opening Oxford Garage, Kieron has over 30 years experience with the Volkswagen, Audi, Seat and Skoda brands. Oxford Garage became an authorised BOSCH Car Service Centre in 2003, making them only the second Centre to open in the UK and today are part of a National Network of 500 BOSCH Car Service Centres.

Kieron has built the business on family-run values, establishing Oxford Garage as a strong, welcoming dealership with face-to-face contact and high levels of customer retention. Priding themselves on that ‘Personal Touch’, they have become a firm member of the village of Hurworth, offering service and repairs on all makes and models to a lot of customers from as far afield as The Scottish Borders.

Jill, Kieron's partner, has many years' experience in the service industry. Having owned several businesses, including a hotel in Keswick, Cumbria, Tea Rooms in Richmond and unique and bespoke sandwich shops in the late nineties, Jill now looks after the accounting side of the business and focuses on Customer Service.

Their favourite cars are naturally Volkswagen Audi, the whole family drives the brand! In Kieron's spare time, when he gets it, himself and Jill love to look after their two Grandchildren and do a spot of gardening.

Kieron Macdonald Junior

Kieron Junior is the Service Advisor at Oxford Garage. Having undertaken his NVQ training in the Workshop for four years, Kieron then progressed to organising the Workshop control systems, liasing with customers on all levels and while on Service Reception, looking after old and new customers alike. Prior to working at Oxford Garage, Kieron was employed by Boots Opticians as a Sales Advisor, gaining the valuable ‘Customer-Facing’ experience and being able to ensure the dealerships customers get the high level of service they deserve.

Kieron's hobbies include keeping fit, so he and his partner love to go on long walks with their Border Terrier. He also has a passion for cooking and good food, this probably came from his Mum and the Tea Rooms!

Andrew West - Vehicle Technician

Andy has worked at Oxford Garage for over 25 years. Leaving school as a young lad, Andy has gained loads of knowledge and experience and now has a fantastic relationship with the customers he has gotten to know over the many years. Andy has worked on almost every make and model of car that you could imagine while being with Oxford Garage!

Andy's hobby is definitely Football, being a massive Man United fan. However, now that he has a family, he spends most of his time with his partner and children, leaving football to take a bit of a back seat.

Tony Preston - MOT tester and Vehicle Auto Technician

Tony has worked for Oxford Garage for the last 13 years and is probably one of the most qualified auto technicians in the area. With a very sound knowledge of most makes of cars and modern electrical systems on the sometimes complex wiring diagrams, Tony is also a full-time MOT tester.

Tony's hobbies include bee keeping, which he does in his spare time, and also his passion for working on his land rovers.

Damian Mottram - Vehicle Technician

Damian has worked at Oxford Garage for the last 13 years. Starting as an apprentice and going through his BOSCH Car Service training and NVQ Level 1, 2 and 3, he has become a fully experienced vehicle technician and MOT tester, working on most makes of cars, including the VAG range.

When Damian isn't looking after his daughter he likes to work on some older cars, preparing them for sale.
