The Old Chapel Centre, Alfriston

We offer a unique venue for a private party or function. It is particularly suitable for weddings, blessings, Christenings and naming ceremonies, funerals, renewal of vows and/or wedding reception in the beautiful South Downs village of Alfriston. This is a unique opportunity to combine the atmosphere of a Church with a non-conformist service.

This beautifully refurbished and intimate chapel, steeped in history, right in the heart of the village and adjacent to the Tye (village green) can comfortably accommodate 80 guests. There is a private walled garden, ideal for champagne reception or even a small marquee.

The interior of the Chapel is relatively unchanged in 200 years. Built in 1801 by the village, many of the original features including wooden panelling, upstairs gallery, stained glass windows and wonderful pipe organ are still in place.

A private car park, close to the Chapel can be reserved for wedding or function cars.

Many celebratory options are possible and for those seeking to make the day their own, this is the ideal venue. You can do the lot yourselves or ask us for help as Debbie, our events planner, is available to provide you with information, advice and contacts.

To hire this venue for a basic wedding service will cost as little as £300, and you have exclusive use of the venue for up to 10 hours. To hire for any other function we have equally competitive rates. For regular users we have an hourly rate of £11.50 per hour.
