General information
Scottish Love in Action (SLA) is a charity based in Scotland that cares for and supports vulnerable children in India.
SLA’s purpose is to help transform the lives of vulnerable children in India. We do this by partnering with and supporting grassroots Indian organisations that care for and educate children. Our joint vision with our Indian partners is to reduce all forms of child poverty.
SLA currently partner with 3 different Indian partners and support three projects.
The Light of Love Children’s Home and School, which we have supported since 2000, remains our original and primary project.
Here SLA provides the funds to feed, clothe, house, educate and give medical care to nearly 400 children.
SLA provides funding to ASRITHA Rainbow Home which cares for 100 girls formerly living on the streets of Hyderabad and VOICE 4 Girls which conducts activity-based camps during school holidays for vulnerable adolescent girls from impoverished backgrounds who are currently in education but at high risk of dropping out due to pressure to get married or become child labourers.
SLA does not promote any particular faith or belief system. Our ethos is based on solidarity with the poor and oppressed throughout the world.
