Situated on Dundas Street, in the heart of Edinburgh’s Georgian New Town, The Fine Art Society in Edinburgh sells Scottish paintings and sculpture from the 18th century to the present.
Previously trading as Bourne Fine Art, the gallery merged with The Fine Art Society, London in 2004. The Fine Art Society is one of the world’s oldest art dealerships and has traded from 148 New Bond Street, London, since its foundation in 1876. The Fine Art Society has long standing relationship with Scotland having first exhibited here in 1969 and taking permanent gallery space in Edinburgh in 1973.
The London gallery specialises in British art and design from the nineteenth to the twenty-first centuries and, since 2005, has continued to develop the gallery’s legacy of exhibitions of contemporary art.
