Art Therapy for sick kids.
The Teapot Trust was inspired by our daughter Verity’s love of art and tea. Verity spent much of her short life in hospital coping with illness and managing the effects that her treatment had upon her young body. Art gave Verity a way of expressing herself. Art as a form of therapy is crucial to many children with chronic diseases, but unfortunately it is not always available. Our aim is to provide professional art therapy for chronically ill children in ‘Sick Kids’ i.e. Royal Hospital for Sick Children Edinburgh and Yorkhill Hospital, Glasgow. In particular the Teapot Trust will offer support for children who suffer from Lupus (Systemic Lupus Erythematosis SLE) and related conditions.
