Morayvia Company Information
General information
Morayvia formed in May 2011 to take forward work started by the Nimrod Heritage Group. We purchased the last Nimrod in Moray XV244 now named 'Duke of Edinburgh' following approval from Buckingham Palace. We have fielded a mobile aircraft exhibit capability since June 2012 including the largest mobile aircraft section - 40ft of Nimrod XV240. In June 2014 we took a lease on a former primary school site at Kinloss to turn it into a science and technology centre, whilst also progressing a Community Asset Transfer application for the site with Moray Council. We have acquired other exhibits such as a Green Goddess and a Commer Fire Engine, A redundant Super Puma simulator cockpit donated by Bristow, as well as a Jet Provost and Vampire cockpit. We are pursuing procurement of a Sea King helicopter as this too is a key piece of Moray's aviation history. However, we are also progressing science and technology exhibits, and have secured funding from the Gordon and Ena Baxter Foundation for a mobile planetarium. Morayvia has been run by volunteers and we know we face a mountain trying to take this project forward but it has to be done, whatever the outcome. Your support can help to move the project forward and give it a greater chance of success.
