The Chapel in the Garden

General information

A Unitarian chapel which is run by members of the local community. It is multi-faith and embraces free thought and development of individual and collective spirituality and experience. Bridport is a town which has always been strong on its alternative, individualistic and spiritual tradition and is still unusual in having a large number of meeting houses and vibrant group spirituality. With knowledge of other world religions practiced in our local community, we would like to share the chapel space with people of all faiths and those who are unclear about faith at all.
We would like to learn from all people and hear their experiences and wisdom and for us all together to build our new philosophy for the future.
We are passionate about social justice and improving the world, often using spiritual techniques to improve health and well-being and to change the energy of families, communities, countries and continents.
Unconstrained by dogma, or by any outside authority, this meeting house is home-grown and owned by the community. Together we aim to achieve things we cannot do apart. The chapel is available for community activities that encourage inclusiveness and respect for all, for example; our planet and love of each other.
