General information
Over 50 years combined experience of working in academic and private referral practices.
Angus Anderson qualified in 1987 and after a short period in mixed practice worked at the Royal "Dick" Veterinary School in Edinburgh where over a 10 year period he obtained a PHD in Inflammatory Joint Disease and the RCVS Diploma in Small Animal Orthopaedics, He has lectured extensively in the UK on all aspects of orthopaedics and has contributed several chapters to various BSAVA Manuals. Angus has been chief examiner for the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons Certificate and Diploma in Small Animal Surgery and is a panellist for the British Veterinary Association (BVA) Kennel Club (KC) Hip and Elbow dysplasia schemes. He is a past secretary, Treasurer and Chairman of the British Veterinary Orthopaedic Association and has been recognised by the RCVS as a Specialist in Small Animal Orthopaedics since 2001.
Ralph Abercromby qualified in 1985 and after a period in small animal practice he spent 4 years at the veterinary schools in Edinburgh and London where he obtained the RCVS Certificate in Small Animal Orthopaedics. Following this he joined Ridgeway Referrals (one of the first referral centres in the UK) before moving to provide orthopaedic referral services on the south coast. Ralph has lecture extensively in the UK and abroad and has contributed a number of chapters to the BSAVA Manuals. He has been the recipient of the JG Wright & Frank Beattie Scholarships to study orthopaedics & arthroscopy abroad, and has been the Examiner and Chief Examiner for the RCVS Certificate in Small Animal Surgery.
Miranda Aiken qualified with honours from the University of Cambridge in 2001.
Following a period in small animal practice she joined AndersonAbercromby in 2007 and was awarded the RCVS Certificate in Small Animal Surgery in 2010. In 2016 she gained the RCVS Diploma in Small Animal Surgery (Orthopaedics).
Outside work her main interests are her horses (she is an accomplished dressage rider).
