Domestic Sprinklers offers a design and installation service of domestic and residential sprinkler systems.

With the current version of Approved Document B, and the RRO there is clear recognition of the value of sprinklers, not only in enhancing life safety of occupants but also of their value in providing additional levels of fire protection. Sprinklers are seen as providing an engineered solution. The latest document in support of sprinklers has just been published by the NHBC foundation. It covers open plan flat layouts and is fully supported by the LABC.

One of the most ignored benefits of sprinklers is the additional flexibility, which sprinklers provide to designers and builders. In unconventional or unusual buildings, including sprinklers in a specification will often enable Building Regulations compliance to be achieved in a very cost-effective manner. Where changes of use are being anticipated, utilising sprinklers is often the only way in which means of escape requirements can be provided. In other situations, the freedom Architects seek to implement with a stylish or unorthodox design can only be accomplished using sprinklers.

The sprinkler system is designed to save lives and it has been proven that sprinklers control 99.7% of all fires. The heads are flush fitted to the ceilings and are virtually hidden. They are activated individually, only when extreme temperatures (170ºF), are reached at the actual sprinkler head, thus eliminating false activation.

Our design service is available by email. If you email a set of plans to us we will incorporate the sprinkler system and return them with a budget cost at no charge.If we are successful in being appointed we then liaise with Building Control, Fire & Rescue Services and the Water Authority and gain all approvals on behalf of the client. On completion of the works we provide certification.

We are approved by FIRAS who audit our installations and ensure that they comply with regulations. We hold efficacy insurance which is essential to protect all parties.
