General information

The company was started in 1922 by my grandfather Gregor Watson, who was an electrician from Coatbridge,outside Glasgow.He heard that the first electrical cable was being laid into the seaside town of Saltcoats and consequently moved to the town to gain from the accompanying electrical work.It was my grandfather who carried out many of the original electricity installations locally in the houses of the town. My father, John Watson took up the reins in 1959 and made the successful switch from contracting to retail and in 1978 , I joined the company.

We are a member of the pan-european "Europes largest independent electrical buying group" electrical buying consortium.Europes largest independent electrical buying group has over 700 members in the UK alone and therefore can negotiate excellent bulk purchase deals to divide amongst the membership, enabling us to offer family business service at "superstore" prices.

As we operate our own transport system, we can offer same day free local delivery and as we employ our own delivery staff we can minimise the transit damage problems encountered by our rival firms.On request we can unpack the goods before delivery or with the client on delivery ,resulting in a faster, cheaper, hassle free service
