Claymills Victorian Pumping Station Company Information
General information
This magnificent site was built in 1885 to pump the brewery effluent of Burton-on-Trent to a Sewage Farm for treatment. In 1900 a large steam driven workshop and forge were built here by the local council and this still working workshop is something really special. It also has Britain's oldest working electrical generator which also came here in 1900 to produce the new fangled electricity. There really is a steam engine round every corner and it's a steam buffs Mecca. It also provides a great Family Fun Day Out
