We understand that churches are an important part of the community and we want to help customers protect their place of worship. This doesn’t just mean when things go wrong we want to help you prevent problems before they arise.

Our online resource ‘Safer Places of Worship’ gives church policyholders instant access to information on how to best protect their church buildings. It outlines practical steps to ensure a safer environment for worship and other church-related activities. It offers churches guidance in areas such as health & safety, security measures, fire prevention and legal requirements that may affect the day-to-day maintenance of churches. It also contains links to other related sites and documents to give more detailed information on specific areas of interest.

Faith through a lens

Faith Through a Lens, is Congregational’s annual photography competition which aims to profile the positive effects of faith within a diverse range of communities. The competition encourages amateur photographers from across the UK to capture the meaning of faith.

Each year an overall winner and two highly commended entries are chosen by our judging panel led by internationally acclaimed photojournalist Don McCullin. The three winning entrants nominate any UK registered charity, church, faith or community group to receive £1,000 worth of audio-visual or photography equipment of their choice, along with claiming £1,000 and £850 worth of personal prizes respectively.
