Brighton Institute of Contemporary Theatre Training Company Information
General information
BRICTT’s BA(Hons) and Diploma in Performing Arts will provide a unique balance between the essential practical skills required for a sustained career in the performing arts and the cognitive and academic requirements of a course delivered at this level.
In an industry where all three disciplines of singing, dancing and acting are of equal importance across many genres, our approach will ensure that successful graduates leave with the necessary attributes to exploit a wide range of employment opportunities.
It’s clear that graduates not only need to be talented and professionally trained, but should also be fully equipped with the wider personal attributes required to face the challenges they’ll encounter when embarking upon a career in the Performing Arts Industry – qualities such as mental resilience, positive health and wellbeing, time and stress management skills, and more.
These areas will be embedded throughout the course, with a firm spotlight placed upon them in the final year; and specifically during the portfolio of final performances students will be required to undertake.
The key to sustaining a career as an actor is the ability to create your own work. Graduates will be informed practitioners, gaining support through rigorous academic and critical studies, with a clear creative vision honed through the production of a wide range of original work. Graduate destinations include, but are not limited to: the West End, touring, commercials, cruise ships, film, TV, Theatre in Education (TIE) and Fringe.
The BA (Hons) in Performing Arts is designed by the industry for the industry, and will be delivered by a faculty all still working in the entertainment business today. Students will receive over 30 hours of contact time (plus practice time) each week, and this work ethic, discipline and dedication to the course will prepare students for the competitive and fast-paced creative arts industry. Small classes and regular individual sessions with the highest calibre tutors, directors, choreographers, casting directors and actors will ensure students engage with current industry practices.
