General information

Through a range of services we encourage participation in music from first access at primary level through progression programmes and by providing inspiring opportunities coupled with high quality teaching. Our Wider Opportunities programme is providing children with free access to specialist instrumental teaching in over 65% of primary schools in our local authority area. We also assist the further development of young musicians with our Play It Again programme and services such as instrument hire and signposting to music tutors and community groups. Our wide range of ensembles showcase our talented young musicians, providing encouragement and invaluable experience for young people with high musical aspirations. Whatever musical route a young person wants to pursue, we aim to inspire young people through quality music education.
