In the early 2000s, Gary Cook, our founder and Managing Director, believed he could provide a high quality, cost-effective service in the production and supply of products manufactured from refractory metals.

In 2004, Gary launched the new Special Metals Fabrication Ltd, stocking and manufacturing a range of products produced from Titanium, Zirconium, Niobium, Tungsten, Tantalum, and Molybdenum.

With a total of over 75 years experience working in the refractory metals industry, Gary and his team began supplying fabricated and machined products produced in-house, to customers near and far.

With a company ethic of honesty and transparency, Special Metals Fabrication work with a number of long established material suppliers, to source the highest quality materials at the most competitive rates. Machining undertaken on our own premises ensures the highest quality can be maintained, while allowing us to produce products at extremely attractive prices.

We have, in recent years, found our range of wrought products becoming increasingly popular with clients both old and new. Many of our competitors have minimum order quotas, but here at SMF we are as happy to quote for small as well as large orders. Our quotes are simple and transparent. With our stocks of sheet, plate, rod, bar, and wire, we can provide a fast turnover on both standard and special order sizes.
