General information

The idea came about when Dewi Thomas was running an accredited coaching and mentoring programme and realised the challenge of getting true skill transfer back into the workplace. Dewi also ran the Gipsy Moth IV Global Voyage on behalf of the UK Sailing Academy in Cowes, sending deserving young people on various stages sailing around the world. On their return he matched young people with people on the coaching programme. The learning transfer was phenomenal and the coaching transformed the life chances of many young people. Employee Volunteering was established in 2006 to run these community activities and was registered as a Community interest Company in May 2007. Early into its formation, team bonding was added to the portfolio and EV now provides employee volunteering activities for some of the biggest companies in the UK, including Prudential, Lloyds, Honda, CA Technologies and BT. But we also help some of the smallest companies, including Excell, Telereal Trillium and Keyline Brands et al.
