Dovedale Nursery

General information

Dovedale Nursery is owned by the Chelmsford College. The nursery is sited in central Chelmsford in close proximity to the town centre whilst being part of a residential area mainly comprised of privately owned houses. The nursery has been a respected part of the community for over 20 years. In July 2011, after a successful Capital Funding bid to Essex Early Years Directorate, the nursery was completely rebuilt on the existing site which enabled an expansion of services. All developments and subsequent expansion have been a direct response to the needs of nursery families, gleaned by a questionnaire before formal planning took place, and requests from our closer feeder schools to provide a Breakfast Club and After School Care. In the Spring of 2013, again after consultation with parents and as a direct response to the increase in demand for 2 year old places, planning was put forward for an additional playroom extension to the building. The Nursery has an open door policy where families are welcome and views and opinions of parents and carers and their children are valued. Our staff are committed to providing a high quality learning environment for the children in our care. The nursery is a warm and friendly place creating a calm atmosphere where children can thrive. We promote our nursery as being a caring and nurturing environment for children. We very effectively implement a key person approach and evaluate regularly how we can develop the relationships between home and nursery.
