We offer the following services:

• Diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder
• Diagnosis of Dyspraxia/Developmental Coordination Difficulties
• Diagnosis of ADHD
• Psychological intervention for people with additional complexity, such as Eating Disorders, Psychosis and Catatonia
• Post-diagnostic support sessions
• Complex Psychological Intervention
• Training around all of the above conditions
• Consultancy to Professionals working with individuals with these conditions.
• I am also able to offer a service to people with Autism and challenging behaviour.

Dr Buchan qualified in 1978 from the Liverpool Clinical Psychology Course and her first post was at the Institute of Neurology in London as a Research and Clinical Psychologist to Professor Elizabeth Warrington.

Dr Buchan has since worked as a Clinical Psychologist and Service Manager for Adults and Children with Learning Disabilities and Complex Special Needs in Tower Hamlets in the East End of London, on the Wirral in Merseyside, in Sheffield, South Yorkshire. Dr Buchan is currently the Clinical Lead for Eastern Cheshire, South Cheshire and Vale Royal Clinical Commissioning Groups. We are also on the National Autistic Society’s directory for diagnosticians and post-diagnostic support.

We accept self-referrals, referrals from families and referrals from Professionals, Service Providers and Commissioners. For referrals via the NHS, please visit your GP who will need to obtain IFR (Individual Funding Request) approval. A referral can then be made to us in writing and an appointment offered within 4-6 weeks.

Our Ethos is one of working in partnership with the individual and their families: A model Dr Buchan has employed since its inception in the East End of London where Dr Buchan was a collaborator with Professor Hilton Davis.
