The wide range of services that we provide include servicing, MOT, body work, insurance work, tyres, wheel alignment, brake disc resurfacing, diagnostics, air conditioning re gassing and most recently, Terraclean, this service cleans out the inside of engine components without having to dismantle the engine.

One of the services that we pride ourselves with is the wide range of courtesy car fleet. Free Courtesy cars are available for the duration of the time your car is with us.

We also trade in used car sales, buying and selling used cars of all makes and models at very competitive prices.

Our tyres are priced very competitively. Because we use 3 wholesales we can find the best price for you and call you back. All our prices include fitting, valve replacement and balancing. We have great deals on 4x4 tyres. The legal requirement is for a minimum tread depth of 1.6mm over 75% of the tyre. It is recommended however to change at a depth of 2mm. The penalty for a defective tyre is £2500 for each tyre.

Our brake disc resurfacing is a cheaper option, compared to getting new discs and pads.

Brake discs should be resurfaced when:

Discs are corroded or rusty
There is brake vibration
Brake pads are changed but new discs are not necessary
There is brake judder and pedal pulsation
Brakes feel spongey

How It Works:

The lathe works on the vehicle, by attaching itself directly to the hub. The technology includes an automatic, electronically-controlled, gyroscope system which measures run-out in the hub and corrects for this to an accuracy of better than 0.05mm.
The automatic surface maching of a disc is completed in around 4 minutes. The complete process takes less than 9 minutes per disc.

The air conditioning re-gas service we provide includes:

So here's what we do..

Step 1 - Gas Recovery
We extract the old gas and clean it ready for re-use.

Step 2 - Vacuum Test
Next we check the system for leaks by creating a vacuum for 20 minutes. This eliminates any major leaks.

Step 3 - Leak Detection Dye Injection
Then we inject a special ultraviolet dye into the system which can be used to quickly find future leaks should they occur.

Step 4 - Re-Gas
Finally we put the cleansed gas back in and top it up to full capacity with the new gas as required, to make sure there is the optimum amount of gas for the system to work at peak performance.
We do this in just under the hour, so it can be done while you wait.

The wheel alignment service that we provide uses the super tracker which uses laser technology to align all 4 wheels on your vehicle. Adjustments can be made to old as well as all modern vehicles including light commercials to ensure the perfect alignment of all 4 wheels adjustments are made to camber and castor angles plus front and rear toe in and out.
The Super Tracker will eliminate, Steering wheel vibration, Crooked steering wheels, Excessive tyre wear.

We have an complete computerised MOT testing facilities with up to date data about your car, and now with our new waiting room, you can wait in comfort while your car is tested.

Here at Scotlands Ash Garage we will,
Charge the official cost for an MOT, However,
If you have waited during the test and there are problems we are willing to show and discuss with you what we have found for your peace of mind.

If you decide to book your vehicle in for any repairs we do offer a courtesy car service free of charge, you are not however obliged to have the repairs carried out by Scotlands Ash Garage, you can take it elsewhere. If you return the car for a re-test and repairs have been carried out elsewhere there will be re-test fee within 10 working days. After 10 working days a full test will be required by law.

Why have an MOT test...We have MOT tests to improve road safety by examining the main road safety and environmental features of the vehicle once a year. You are committing an offence if you use a vehicle which needs to have an MOT certificate and does not have a current or genuine certificate.

At Scotlands Ash we aim to make MOT testing as easy as possible for you, to this end we are open for MOT tests from 6:30 till 17:00 on weekdays and Saturdays (close 12 noon on Saturday) and will even carry out MOT tests at 6am by appointment Monday to Saturday.

A modern fleet of courtesy cars are available, subject to terms and conditions, or if you prefer, we will collect and return your car to you within a 5-mile radius.

As an owner of a garage for 30 years, I have observed a general decline in the quality of car and van servicing, which is common thoughout all levels of the industry from small garages through to main dealers.
