Snoadhill Cottage Company Information
General information
Snoadhill Cottage Bed and Breakfast is located in an accessible but truly idyllic rural situation, near Ashford in Kent, in the heart of the romantic "Darling Buds of May" countryside. Away from all main roads, the views of the Kent countryside towards Pluckley and Bethersden have probably not changed for hundreds of years. The B&B is situated in the middle of delightful formal Kent gardens and surrounded by fields with no other cottages close by.
Originally a medieval "Hall House" this charming Kent Bed & Breakfast dates from approximately 1450 and is of timber framed construction featuring some truly massive oak beams. Over the years it became a more humble Kent cottage and was for centuries used to house local farm workers, dividing into two or sometimes three cottages as part of the Dering Estate at Little Chart in the heart of Kent. The Cottage was divided up and sold in 1913 and for the next 56 years became the cottage for Snoadhill Farm; in 1969 it was turned back into one house and sold off.
Purchased by Yvette and Philip James in 1987, they brought their three children up here with a wonderful mix of the French and English cultures. Whilst remaining the family home Yvette and Philip run it as a charming B&B with French and English influences.
