Berrys Opticians is an independent Opticians in the heart of Barnsley, offering Sight Tests and eyecare to all.
Private sight tests are £20 this includes a £20 voucher towards your spectacle purchase.
NHS sight tests are free to exempt groups. e.g. Under 16s, over 60s, diabetic, certain benefits (please Check)
All under 16s get a free NHS test and free spectacles.
Berrys is also part of the PEARS scheme which means if you are registered with a GP in the Barnsley area and have an eye problem you can visit your optician rather than waiting for a GP appointment.
Listed below are the related conditions that can be treated.

Red eye or eyelids

• Dry eye, gritty and uncomfortable eyes

• Irritation and inflammation of the eye

• Significant recent sticky discharge from the eye or watery eye

• Recently occurring or sudden increase of flashes and floaters

• Painful eye

• In-growing eyelashes

• Recent and sudden reduced vision

• Something in the eye

Patients who have an eye condition that is being monitored by their GP or hospital should contact their GP practice or hospital department in the first instance.

If you have any of the following symptoms, you should go to A&E immediately:

• Considerable eye pain

• Significant trauma, such as a penetrating injury or lacerations to the eye or eyelid

• Chemical injury or burn

• Problems arising from recent eye surgery
