Unknown to most people the Cleveland Pools are a pair of open air swimming pools hidden on the banks of the Avon on the eastern side of the Bath. In 2015 they celebrated their Bicentenary and, despite years of neglect, disuse, and a brief period as a trout farm, they will at last be turned back into a lovely open-air swimming pool.
The pools are the oldest surviving lido in the country, dating from the Regency period of King George III's reign. To find out more information about the pools and the plans to rebuild them, visit the Cleveland Pools Trust site at www.clevelandpools.org.uk
