General information

Aquatic's business began in Louisiana, USA over 40 years ago. At the request of a US client, we established an office in Aberdeen in 1974 to provide innovative engineering, construction and personnel services - initially supplying pipe handling frames.

In 1994 we acquired the business of Aberdeen Offshore Services (AOS) which was involved primarily in the area of technical resources for the Marine and Subsea industry. The synergy created by the merger consolidated our position in the UK and overseas. In July 2006, the acquisition of Aquatic by the Acteon Group added a key new capability to Acteon’s specialist subsea back-of-boat services.

Aquatic is registered with First Point Assessment (FPAL number 10040499) and was accredited to “Investors in People” in 2003. The Health & Safety element of our IMS has been developed to meet the requirements of the OHSAS 18001 and as such it also follows the guidance set out in the HSE publication Successful health and safety management HS(G)65. This element of the IMS also fully addresses the Health & Safety requirements of our parent company, Acteon, as published in The Acteon Way HSE safety guide. Aquatic completed the OHSAS 18001 certification process.

In addition to our goals relating to the avoidance of harm to individuals, Aquatic is also committed to the prevention of pollution and harm to the environment. To fulfil this commitment, the environmental element of our IMS has been developed to meet the requirements of ISO 14001.

The Quality Management element of our IMS has been subject to improvement and update and many re-certifications. More recently, the system has become an integral part of the IMS and BSI certification to ISO 9001 has been successfully maintained.
