Histon Early Years Centre

General information

Children’s Centres support all families with children under five, and those who are expecting a baby. Each Children’s Centre
has a team of experienced Family Workers who can help parents.

We work in two different ways:

We run groups which take place at the Children’s Centre and within our reach area. Here are some of the activities you may find happening near you.
Ready Steady Play - A stay and play group for under 5's run by a Children’s Centre Worker. We have two sessions - Girton at The Cotton Hall (Tue 2-3pm) & at The Cottenham Community Centre (Thur 10-11am)
Dad's Play - A stay and play group run by a Children's Centre Worker on the 1st Saturday of each month at the Histon Early Years Centre (10.30-11.30am)
Rhyme Time - A stay and play session for under 3's run by a Children's Centre Worker at Histon Early Years Centre (Thur 10.30-11.30)
Mobile Toy Library in Cottenham on the 3rd Monday of the month 9.30-11.55am contact Centre for more info
Under 1's Group - a stay and play session each Monday at Cottenham Baptist Church 1-3pm
Baby Massage, Baby Yoga and Pediatric First Aid - Please contact the Centre for dates and times
Speech and language sessions – Please contact us and we will direct you to the nearest drop in session.
Baby clinics and child development checks - run by Health Visiting team
Midwifery Clinics – run by the Midwifery Team

We have a ‘What’s On’ guide each term giving details of all of our groups and activities, please come along to the centre to collect one.

Please note their is a small charge for some of these activities. You Centre can give you these details on request.
We also work individually with families needing extra support and can regularly visit you in your home if required. Family Workers can offer advice and support with the following: sleep, routines, behaviour management, play ideas, childcare options and benefits. Please contact the Centre to discuss this service
