General information
This page promotes the events and activities which take place at the Northside Welcome Centre in Erdington, Birmingham. The Centre was established by the local Sikh community but provides opportunities for all the community, following the Sikh concept of Sarbat Da Bhalla or service for the benefit of all.
We run a daily programme of classes in English, Maths, ESOL, computers for adults, which are open to all. We provide a counselling service and Information, Advice and Guidance on employment related matters. We run two Job Clubs, supporting unemployed people to find work. We provide Kundalini Yoga classes and many workshops throughout the year about health and wellbeing. This includes two Yoga Retreats in the year.
A programme for the local Sikh Community is also offered, including monthly Sukhmani Sahib Paath, celebrating Sungrand, Gurpurbs and family events. We also provide Sukhmani Sahib blessings in people's homes.
