Would you like to improve your public speaking skills? Do you have a best man or father of the bride speech coming up? Are presentations at work something you prefer to avoid? Would you like to grow in confidence and meet new people? Or perhaps you’d just like to give public speaking a try?
Sutton Coldfield Speakers Club can help you with all this and more. We are a friendly group who meet fortnightly (less often during the summer) on Thursday evenings at Aston Wood Golf Club, 132 Blake Street, Sutton Coldfield, B74 4EU.
Our meetings provide the opportunity for members to practise and receive feedback on prepared speeches and also to have a go at impromptu public speaking. The membership includes men and women of all ages. Some are experienced public speakers and others are nervous beginners. We all take a turn at chairing the meeting, speaking and evaluating the speeches of other members.
Visitors and prospective new members are always welcome. As a newcomer you would be guided by experienced members keen to pass on their skills. Beginners are given the opportunity to make a variety of types of speech so that after a relatively short period they become competent speakers, confident to speak in front of any audience. Many members find that confidence permeates and enhances other parts of their lives too.

If you live within reach of north Birmingham, come for a night out and see what we do. Take part in the meeting if you like but you won’t be pressurised. You will be surprised at how quickly that fear of speaking in front of an audience disappears!
