Lair Barn Holiday Cottage

Some time ago we dreamt of owning our very own holiday cottage, something that lots of people dream about. Generally these things stay firmly stuck in dreamland because they cost far too much money to ever get out of a dream.

After a difficult few years, what with both my parents passing away + recession, we decided that we would like to try and find our Dream Cottage, something that would be a monument to my parents, a final gift that their grand children and future generations could love and cherish forever.

Fuelled by this thought we spent many hours searching, and lots of days travelling around the country trying to find the perfect property.

We wanted somewhere to escape the rat race, somewhere to relax and just soak up the peace and quiet, but not too far away from our house in Sutton Coldfield. This proved to be quite a challenge.

Then we spotted Lair Barn for sale with a local Matlock estate agent. We fell in love with its sheer beauty and its peaceful location in Tansley close to Matlock. It is a rare find, a breathtakingly beautiful two bedroom barn conversion full of character and charm.

From its long sweeping private drive to its own secluded private paddock, it has everything you could want from a holiday home and more.

Lair barn was originally part of a large farm and was used to provide shelter for horses. The barn was converted to a holiday cottage in 2000 by a local builder and boasts modern electric under floor heating. As the new owners of Lair Barn we have plans to continue to improve the cottage and do whatever we can to make your stay here as wonderful as possible.
