Where we came from

Originally founded in the 1920's in Lincolnshire, Cropley Coaches is a real family business, having been handed down from grandfather to father to son. Our founder Randolph started by taking local produce to markets in a horse drawn cart but occasionally a few people would want lifts to the markets. Once taking people started to outweigh taking produce, Randolph had a local tradesman build him a proper horse drawn cart with seating. And that was how Cropley Coaches was born.

When Randolph’s son Len Cropley took charge of the company Len moved the company forward by doing more UK distance work moving us out of the local service sector and into the private coach hire market.

Len’s son John Cropley & his wife Sandra have been in charge since 1986, again, pushing the company even further by breaking into the continental market while cementing Cropley Coaches as one of the premier companies for coach travel.

Cropley Coaches have been taking people to where they want to go for nearly 100 years, and we want to carry on this tradition for another 100 years, if not more.
