Edgworth Methodist Church

General information

Edgworth Methodist Church is a small, friendly worshipping community, part of the Bolton Circuit of the Methodist Church of Great Britain. The church building is a focal point in the village of Edgworth in the semi-rural parish of North Turton, which is well-known for its scenic villages and hamlets.

Service times - we meet at 10am on Sundays for worship led by a lay preacher or minister according to the Circuit plan. About one in four services will include Holy Communion.
Children and young people are welcome and our Sunday Club (also starting at 10am), which runs in term-time, provides dedicated activities, with leaders and children usually joining the main worship towards the end of the service. We also offer and enjoy all-age worship, also usually once each month (see plan for details). Please get in touch for more information.

Using or visiting the church - our friends at the School's Out club use the building every day in term time and you are welcome to hire one of our church rooms for meetings or parties. We also have 8 allotments for hire although all are taken at the moment but please get in touch if you're interested in future availability. Unfortunately we're not able to keep the church open all the time but if you'd like to visit the building please let us know by email or phone (Mark Campbell 01204 853129). The grounds are open to the public at any time.

Music - there's always some sort of musical activity going on involving both adults and children & young people, including:
- the choir rehearses on a Thursday night at 7pm in church (not every week so please check with Pauline Booth for dates);
- guitar-based ensembles play for services, special events and just for fun;
- a (loose) woodwind ensemble gets together for special occasions.
