We are a registered charity (registration number 299230), founded in 1935.
The object of the Friends is to "support patients of the hospital and others in the community who are in need of health care as may be provided by the hospital, and generally to support the work of the hospital".
All our activities support the hospital's work in the advancement of health and the relief of those in need because of ill-health. The hospital provides a service of care which is available equally to all members of the local community. This demonstrates the public benefit of the charity.
A copy of the charity's constitution, which is registered with the Charity Commission, is available on request.
