Dorset Yacht Company at Lake Yard are proud to have been the partner and sole UK distributor for Boston Whaler for over 30 years. We are also a boatyard with hoisting facilities up to 50 tonnes, an exclusive marina dock, swinging moorings, a waterside clubhouse, a chic restaurant & bar, a fantastic location, a friendly reception and a place you have always wanted to find.

A family business since 1938, we have evolved from building minesweepers and landing craft barges to the modern servicing and sales centre that we are today.

We sell boats, New Boston Whalers and pre – loved Boston Whalers

We refurbish and look after them, and their engines, and their owners too.

We are main agents for Mercury and Yamaha

We have 45 deep water Marina dock berths

We have 98 deep water swinging moorings

We can lift your boat if it’s under 50 tonnes (that’s pretty big)

We can antifoul it or arrange repairs to it

We are situated on the shores of Poole Harbour in Poole, Dorset.

The Harbour is the second largest natural harbour in the world and is a place of outstanding natural beauty; it is the centre of many water sports activities. Studland, Sandbanks and Bournemouth beaches are among the best in the country and are very safe and popular anchorages.

Less than an hour easy cruising distance is the spectacular “Jurassic Coastline”, with wonders such as Lulworth Cove, Durdle Door and Kimmeridge. Just slightly further afield is the Solent and the Isle of Wight, with it’s many marinas and havens.

Our unique spot in Poole can boast some of the best harbour views. Being the furthest west of all Poole Harbour marinas, we enjoy uninterrupted views over the Purbecks, and a vista that runs from the end of the river Frome all the way across to the beautiful Brownsea Island.
