ELC London Street, an officially Accredited school in Britain was founded in 1973 by Mr.Séan Mc Burney and quickly earned a reputation for innovation and quality. ELC has helped thousands of students for over 40 years progress English for work, study and become more confident in the English language. More than 50 nationalities have been taught at our Reading location, a global network of former students developed - so the ELC experience is truly international.
We are a medium sized school, providing a friendly personal service. Our range of courses include general English, examination preparation, group and individual tuition, Business and English for Special Purposes.
We have very good teachers. We offer a full range of services designed to make your learning experience with us worthwhile, stimulating and fun.
We do not use a set classbook for each level but provide hand outs and photocopies of the particular work assigned.This allows for a wide range of different teaching materials to be used. Students do not need to bring any materials to class as all will be provided by ‘ELC’ for general English studies.Particular emphasis is placed on listening exercises with oral summary, vocabulary and expression expansion, correction of pronunciation and building confidence in speaking.
