At Castle Vets in Reading, we strive to provide outstanding, compassionate veterinary care to improve the quality and length of life for pets and bring peace of mind and reassurance to their owners.

Our aim is to provide a caring, professional personalised service, that recognises the individual bond you have with your pet and works with you to try and keep your pet happy and well throughout its life.Castle Vets is a fully independant small animal veterinary practice. It is owned and managed by veterinary surgeons David Terry and Peter Jackman, both of whom have been with us for over 25 years and still work full time at the practice.

Castle Vets is a large, single centre, small animal veterinary practice in central Reading. We have been on our site on Tilehurst road since 1972 and our recently rebuilt premises now includes a separate but integrated cat clinic, outstanding in-patient wards and operating theatres (including specialist veterinary surgical procedures), spacious comfortable waiting areas, 8 consulting rooms for both vet and veterinary nurse consultations, diagnostics room with x-ray, ultrasound and endoscopy equipment and a well equipped laboratory and a large private car park.

We are cat friendly at Castle Vets and are proud to be the only local practice offering completely separate cat facilities, including spacious cat-only in-patient wards, operating theatre, waiting areas and consulting rooms.

European Veterinary Specialist Hannes Bergmann, has recently joined the fantastic team at Castle Vets. This is the first time that a European Veterinary Specialist has worked as a Consultant within a veterinary practice in Reading, meaning that the pets of Reading can undergo some very specialist surgical procedures, such as joint replacement and arthroscopy, without having to travel long distances.

Our outstanding facilities make us the ideal choice as host practice for Vets Now who provide many local practices with out of hours emergency cover from our site. Our extensive facilities and collaboration with Vets Now, means that your pet can be cared for on-site 24 hours a day, 7 days a week should the need arise. A minimum of one veterinary surgeon and one qualified veterinary nurse remain on duty at the practice premises, whatever the time of day or night, to ensure regular monitoring and the administration of any required medications to our patients.
