Silhouette Secrets will be a 40-minute documentary, a collaboration between silhouette artist Charles Burns and filmmaker Andi Reiss. The film will be a journey in time, exploring the artistic heritage of a modern-day silhouettist and bringing to life some of the obscure and eccentric characters who have practiced his art in the past. It will unpack the history of silhouettes by looking at the work of successive generations of artists, and the times in which they worked. The film will be made in a quirky and entertaining manner, full of unexpected visual references to the shadows and silhouettes we all see around us everyday.
