Norville Opticians is a leading independent optician with eleven practices in and around Gloucestershire.

Norville Opticians was founded 100 years ago and is still family owned today. We provide a full range of eye care services including eye examinations, a comprehensive selection of frames and lenses, contact lenses, sunglasses and much more.

We believe in providing a high standard of service and only use qualified optometrists and dispensing staff, all of whom are registered with the General Optical Council for eye examinations and fittings. In addition we provide a full adjustment service to give you the best possible eye care at a competitive price.

We have a qualified Dispensing Optician with years of experience at all of our practices, this means that when you choose your new spectacles you are given the best professional assistance.

The Right Staff:

When you choose your spectacles you expect that the person who is dispensing them to you is knowledgeable and qualified. This is, sadly, not always the case. The sale and supply of spectacles by law requires no specific training or registration. This means that often the person who is advising you on the best lens for you knows little more about optics or how the eye works than you do. All of our practices are, however, staffed by a qualified and registered Dispensing Optician. A Dispensing Optician will have studied for three years to gain a degree level qualification about all aspects of eye care. This means that we can give you the best possible advice and aftercare to ensure that you are happy with your vision.

The Right Choice of Lenses:

Some opticians make a point out of clear simple pricing. It is easy to show a pricing structure when you only offer only three designs of varifocal to choose from, less so when you can offer more than ten times that number of distinct varifocal designs. This is not including the many different combinations of coatings and materials that the lenses can be made from and not mentioning all the different types of single vision, bifocal, trifocal or enhanced reading lenses that are available. By dealing with different lens manufacturers we can offer a selection of lenses to suit different visual requirements and varying budgets. By employing experienced Dispensing Opticians we provide staff who can explain and guide you through the complex array of lens choices to give you the clearest, most comfortable vision possible.

The Right Choice of Frames:

All of our qualified Dispensing Opticians have at least ten years experience inoptics, which in addition to their training gives them a clear understanding on what frames will suit you. As well as the style of the frames, you need to be sure that whatever spectacles that you choose will fit comfortably and that they are fit for your prescription. The size, shape, and design of the frames will affect the appearance of the lenses when you prescription is fitted; our Dispensing Opticians will be able to advise you how the finished pair of spectacles will look. If all else fails our Dispensing Opticians can get a frame hand made for you to get the perfect fit in the look that you want.
