General information

The main purpose of Happytat is to generate income for the charitable work of LoveBristol, Crisis Centre Ministries and a Bristol Life fund supporting initiatives tackling homelessness & drug and alcohol addiction in Bristol. These projects will be awarded 50%, 40% and 10% of the fund respectively.

The enterprise model works through the sale, recycle and up-cycle of donated furniture, whilst also providing an avenue for some more vulnerable adults, recovering addicts from the Stokes Croft area opportunities to get back into work. The aim is to partner with local organsisations building volunteers up, giving them the opportunity to increase in confidence, gaining tangible experience and skills so they can move on to paid work with a positive and reliable reference. Happytat’s unique selling point will include commissioning local artists to renovate certain items of furniture in a ‘Stokes Croft’ style. This will not only benefit the Stokes Croft art scene but help build relationships in the community through cooperative business.
