The Regent Sports & Social Club

General information

The Regent Club (founded in 1997 as the successor to the Gas Club) is, we believe, Leicester's premier sports and social club. It is now a Private Members' Club which caters for many wide and varied tastes. Available at all times is hot and cold food (Chilli, Curry and Cheesy Chips plus Vicky's Banging Breakfast are legendary favourites of the Regent clientele). There is always a selection of Real Ales from which to choose - the house favourite being Hardy's and Hanson's Kimberley Bitter. Tuesday nights are given over to Jazz; there are 4 darts teams; Tuesday and Thursday nights are quiz nights; there is a fan-base of Leicester City and Leicester Tigers' fans who avail themselves of The Regent's hospitality on matchdays, when of course the club is open from 12.00 - 23.00. Local Am-Dram group The Tyrsby Players - who occasionally produce plays and sketch shows in the club - and local re-enactment Society Redcoats & Revolutionaries both hold their regular meetings at the Regent, There is a Table Tennis team that plays on Wednesdays and Thursdays and Pool and Snooker may be booked by members. We have an excellent function room with sprung dance floor which members may book free of charge. Many parties, wedding receptions and other celebrations are held here regularly, and on occasion we have accommodated larger dance bands. The Club is also a venue for the Leicester Comedy Festival. Facilities also include BT Sports and Wi-Fi. Membership is just £12.00 per annum, and if renewing before the closing date (usually 31ST October) it reduces to a bargain £10.00.
