In todays market environment, organisations require a work force to deliver optimal productivity. The provision of effective sickness absence management is only part of the story in achieving optimal productivity.

Whilst any member of an organisation may be at work,l they may be performing sub-optimally (known as presenteeism). The cost of the associated loss in productivity is seven times the loss due to absenteeism.

It is important that organisations understand not only how to manage presenteeism but, more importantly, how to prevent it - prevention is better than cure!
