Park Library Centre

General information

Park Community Action (PCA) was established in 1996. The forum is the voice of Park Hill, Talbot, Granville and Hyde Park community, which is part of the Manor Castle ward close to the centre of the city of Sheffield.

PCA's vision is to transform the Park Centre into a vibrant landmark for learning, performance and service. The centre will be used to unify and invigorate the community it serves, through providing opportunities, individual and community growth and achievement, especially for young people.

The Park Centre building is maintained by Sheffield City Council. When it became vacant in 2006, PCA undertook to provide activities with a long term view with integrating the library and making the centre a multi use community hub.

The community is diverse with a wide range of cultures and the centre brings people together in many ways.

The youth club has been a successful mechanism bringing young people together. The dance and music groups give opportunities for exercise, fun and confidence building to children of all ages.
