Stancill Brewery is a story of triumph over adversity, a tale true Yorkshire grit against all the odds.

Our story began in 2013 when our founders Tom and Adam learned of the imminent closure of Barnsley’s historic Oakwell brewery. Keen to ensure last orders wouldn’t be called on their much loved Barnsley Bitter the duo sprang into action, mounting a last minute rescue bid to secure the future of a drink loved throughout the world.

Within just 48 hours the original brewing equipment had been rescued and Stancill Brewery began writing a new chapter in South Yorkshire’s brewing history.

Based in Yorkshire’s brewing capital, Stancill produces a core range of seven beers, including its legendary Barnsley Bitter as well as continuing to innovate and develop new seasonal specials and Sheffield Pilsner, the first beer of its kind to be brewed in the steel city.

Since launching our brewery, Stancill has become a byword in the brewing industry for quality, innovation, passion, and great tasting beers!
